Lewes FC Women’s Away Shirt

In an unconventional move, Lewes FC has handed over the design of its away kit to the designers of Who Gives A Crap’s colourful toilet paper wrappers to raise money to support the billions of people who still do not have access to clean water or toilets. 

This is not your normal sponsorship; it’s about driving donations not fame. Throughout the year Lewes FC will be donating 50% of net profits from sales of the unique mauve and white wavy striped away shirt this season to help build a better world for girls and women in the places that need it most. 

Who Gives A Crap commits 50 percent of their profits to help support their partners to create equal access to clean water and toilets. Lewes FC will be joining Who Gives A Crap's mission to support equal access for all. 

This is Lewes FC doing what it does best, using football as a vehicle for social change. 

Lewes FC is the world's first gender equal club known as Equality FC. The Who Gives A Crap partnership is part of their equality journey and mission to make the world a more equitable place for women and girls. Why sanitation and toilets? Not having water and good levels of sanitation disproportionally affects girls and women across the globe. Here’s why: 

• In communities where water sources are located away from their homes, women and girls are primarily responsible for water collection in seven out of ten households. 
• Inadequate WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) services put women and girls at increased risk of sexual and physical violence for women who walk long distances to access water.
• Lack of sanitation means girls are more likely to miss school when menstruating.
