Lewes FC Men’s Away Shirt
COLOUR: White-Black
In an unconventional move, Lewes FC has handed over the design of its away kit to the designers of Who Gives A Crap’s colourful toilet paper wrappers to raise money to support the billions of people who still do not have access to clean water or toilets.
This is not your normal sponsorship; it’s about driving donations not fame. Throughout the year Lewes FC will be donating 50% of net profits from sales of the unique mauve and white wavy striped away shirt this season to help build a better world for girls and women in the places that need it most.
Who Gives A Crap commits 50 percent of their profits to help support their partners to create equal access to clean water and toilets. Lewes FC will be joining Who Gives A Crap's mission to support equal access for all.
This is Lewes FC doing what it does best, using football as a vehicle for social change.
Lewes FC is the world's first gender equal club known as Equality FC. The Who Gives A Crap partnership is part of their equality journey and mission to make the world a more equitable place for women and girls. Why sanitation and toilets? Not having water and good levels of sanitation disproportionally affects girls and women across the globe. Here’s why:
- In communities where water sources are located away from their homes, women and girls are primarily responsible for water collection in seven out of ten households.
- Inadequate WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) services put women and girls at increased risk of sexual and physical violence for women who walk long distances to access water.
- Lack of sanitation means girls are more likely to miss school when menstruating.

How to wash technical sportswear
Always check the garment washing instructions prior to washing.
- Machine wash inside-out in cold water (30) with like colours.
- Tumble dry on low heat or air/hang dry (Check item labels).
- Do not use bleach or any product that includes chlorine or peroxide.
- Do not use dryer sheets or fabric softener if the item is technical (Dri-FIT, Vapo Dry).
- Do not dry clean.
Stains and marks
Care for garments promptly. The sooner you pre-treat and launder the stained clothes, the better your results will be.
Don't allow mud or stains to set.
Do not leave wet or dirty jerseys in football or gym bags, where smells and permanent stains can develop.
If a stain is not removed in washing....
- Do not dry it. Dryer heat will set the stain.
- Soak the stain in a pre wash. In the case of severe staining it may be necessary to apply a stain remover directly to the affected area. Then launder again.
- Do not dry a garment until the stain is removed because dryer heat will set the stain.
Once stain is removed launder as per usual custom.
Care Definitions
Pre-soak heavy stains
Soak stained items in a plastic bucket or laundry tub with the warmest water safe for the fabric and a good laundry detergent for one to three hours. Sensitive stains should be rinsed in cold water, and then washed with a non-chlorine bleach product.
Pre-wash
Used for heavily soiled garments. Run through the pre-wash cycle with the recommended amountof detergent. When wash cycle is complete, drain the pre-wash solution and launder in the hottest water recommended by the manufacturer.
