{"id":47666,"title":"Summer Series - Brighton Elite Football Performance Centre","description":"As part of our Summer Series, we played host to 10 girls and women\u2019s teams at the incredible Elite Football Performance Centre in Brighton.","content":"<p><strong>As part of our Summer Series, we were privileged to play host to a number of grassroots girls and women\u2019s football teams at the incredible Elite Football Performance Centre in Brighton.<\/strong><\/p><p>Boosted by some south coast sunshine, the day proved to be an amazing experience for all involved. With over 400 players, coaches and spectators in attendance at an absolute feast of football!<\/p><div data-youtube-video=\"\"><iframe class=\"youtube\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HM3uyjTWsPc\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>The facility is exactly as it says on the tin \u2013 \u201celite\u201d. It\u2019s the base for Brighton &amp; Hove Albion\u2019s professional men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams, plus a Category One academy setup.<\/p><p>It boasts everything you\u2019d expect from a state-of-the-art Premier League training ground, and more. 11 natural grass and artificial pitches, as well as a covered indoor pitch. There are also medical rooms, a gym, a swimming pool and a huge canteen.<\/p><p>For the event, we were given access to the centre\u2019s dedicated women\u2019s pitches, used by the club\u2019s Women\u2019s Super League team.<\/p><p>Eight teams of under 14s girls from all over the country traveled to Brighton for the tournament: East Surrey Girls, Sale United, two teams from Kings Hill, Ballers Academy, Worthing Town, Watford Ladies and Medway Utd.<\/p><p>After a full day of really high quality football, it was Kings Hill\u2019s Spitfires team that came out victorious and took home the Summer Series trophy<\/p><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/8s9i45r48sqtpp60n4l5jpyt1xpvq8m4p5rfd9cierbngssv.jpg.jpg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" alt=\"8s9i45r48sqtpp60n4l5jpyt1xpvq8m4p5rfd9cierbngssv.jpg.jpg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" \/><\/p><p>We also watched a well-contested 90 minute adult match between Grenfell Athletic and Eastbourne Town FC Women.<\/p><p>And to top it all off, to provide some added inspiration for the players, Football influencer Nancy Baker hosted a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kitlocker.com\/blog\/libby-bance-nancy-baker\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Q&amp;A with Brighton midfielder Libby Bance<\/u><\/a>. They chatted about all things football, Libby\u2019s career and her top tip for making it in the game.<\/p><p>If this event was anything to go by, then the future of grassroots women\u2019s football is very bright indeed.
