Walking Football has grown in popularity over the last decade as a route back into the sport, particularly for those over the age of 35 and beyond, who perhaps thought their footballing careers were behind them.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

The phrase \u201cfootball for all\u201d is used a lot as an overarching ethos for those governing the game. But for that to truly come to fruition, then age needs to be removed as a barrier.<\/span><\/p>

Clubs like <\/span>Cambrian United Hot Steppers<\/u><\/span><\/a> from South Wales are playing an important role in ensuring that women over 35 in their local community are not frozen out from the game they love.<\/span><\/p>

Founded in 2021 with eight players and now 40 members strong, the club aims to maximise participation for all groups and to encourage sustained participation for players of all abilities.<\/span><\/p>

They offer women from in and around the area of Rhondda Cynon Taf a fun weekly session to help them keep fit, learn new skills and make friends. It\u2019s a diverse club with ages currently ranging between 35 and 69. They also welcome all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players looking for a route back into the game, or those leaving traditional 11 a-side football.<\/span><\/p>

As well as their weekly sessions, the Hot Steppers also compete in the Wales Walking Football League and regularly travel to tournaments.<\/span><\/p>

As part of <\/span>Kitunlocker<\/u><\/span><\/a>, we sent the team a fresh set of Nike match kits and a few other essentials to make sure they look and feel like the amazing team they are. The kit features an iconic dragon, displaying their proud Welsh identity.<\/span><\/p>
