When we first came up with Kitunlocker, we had a strongly defined idea for who we wanted to be involved. Simply put, to showcase clubs that have a purpose that’s much bigger than what happens on the pitch.
Any kind of sporting success should be secondary to what the clubs mean to those involved with them.
The next club we want to shout about is the perfect embodiment of that ethos.
Introducing: Lincolnshire Lancers 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
In recent years, rugby has not always felt like a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether that’s because of social barriers, a lack of inclusionary opportunities or last year’s ban on transgender women playing women’s rugby. Lots of different factors have created an often hostile environment.
This, coupled with a lack of LGBTQ+ spaces in his adopted home city of Lincoln, inspired Blake Coghill to do something.
So, armed with a bag of rugby balls and one like-minded friend, Blake founded Lincolnshire Lancers.
“The Lancers was born out of giving people a like-minded space to be themselves and enjoy sport.” Blake Coghill, Founder.
Since that very first two-player session in the summer of 2022, the club has gone from strength to strength. They’ve embraced “touch rugby”, which is a form of the game that is open and accessible to everyone. They also now have a permanent home thanks to the hospitality of Lincoln RFC.
As the only club of it’s kind within the whole of Lincolnshire, the Lancers attract attendees not only from the city of Lincoln, but from far and wide.
All that they were missing was a proper kit. Enter Kitunlocker…

We loved working with Blake and the Lancers on their first proper kit. Painting a club’s identity on to a shirt is what Kitunlocker is all about and this kit represents their club in so many ways.
From the pink triangle, to the Pride flag and the “Rugby For All” logo, this kit is uniquely “theirs”. Not forgetting their fantastic team crest 😍
