“I love Sunday League. When I got released from Charlton, I went back and played Sunday League… and loved every minute of it.”
Who wants to hear about a real-life rags to riches story? In collaboration with SE Dons and adidas, we brought local hero Bradley Dack back to his Sunday League footballing roots to talk about his rise to stardom.
We met up with adidas athlete Dack alongside Don Strapzy and Big G from the SE Dons to ask him a few questions. The pair have previously came up against Dack in a more competitive environment, when the SE Dons played against Corinthians at The Jungle. Find out how the game ended below…
Bradley Dack is a great example of a player who’s experienced many ups and downs in his career.
After being dropped by Charlton Athletic’s academy after two years he joined non-league Corinthians. This is where he got noticed by Gillingham and joined their academy, where he signed a three year scholarship in 2010.
He signed his first professional contract with Gillingham in May 2012, and after impressing in pre-season, made his professional debut in August the same year.
After a short loan deal with non-league side Braintree, Dack began to make himself a household name around Gillingham, being named Young Player of the Year, Sponsor’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the end of the 14/15 season. Not bad for a player who was playing his trade in Sunday League football prior to joining the club.

After multiple Young player of the year awards, a League One player of the season award, and being a prolific goalscorer for Gillingham, he moved to Blackburn Rovers in June 2017. In his first season at Blackburn, he was crowned EFL League One player of the season, scoring 18 goals in 42 league appearances for the Rovers.
“I think your mentality always has to be, ‘Win’.”
It is evident to see that Dack has learned a lot from his experiences. When questioned by Big G about his mentality going into games at a professional standard, the playmaker responded by saying that he believes he can win every game he goes into. It is this belief that has seen the Rovers player go on to appear at the likes of St. James’ Park and White Hart Lane in his young career.
As well as offering his pearls of wisdom, Dack also took part in a challenge vs Ryan Palmer and Montel Agyemang of the Dons to determine who is the best at free kicks…
Thanks to Blackburn Rovers’ midfielder Bradley Dack for coming down to South East London, and adidas for hooking us up with the player.
Dack is sporting the new adidas Tiro 19 jackets and pants from the latest teamwear catalogue. As usual, you can find this on Kitlocker.com with 25% off RRP. Click HERE to check it out.
Don Strapzy, Big G, Palms and Monts are wearing SE Dons and Adidas trainingwear, which can be found HERE.
